What would make a man wake up at 4:30 in the morning, dress up for manual work, drive to a place at least 30 minutes away, a place on the other side of the City which is expectedly dirty (and probably dangerous), to do hard manual labor, for free? This man has a regular job, has a family, has responsibilities, and the day designated for the work is a Saturday, a day intended for family time? What would make him, for at least 4 hours, focus on helping the community?
I know the answer to all these questions! I am blessed to be associated with people like him who go beyond the normal, the usual, to give something valuable – time and love. And yes, time can be bought because one can be paid to do manual labor. But love, that’s something else. It can not be bought … it can only be given … freely.
Thank you Bishop Jared Binas! And thank you too, Sister Maria Sevina Biñas for your help!
