An airplane soaring high in the sky is a breathtaking thing to behold and one cannot help but be awed that something so big and heavy can fly that high and go wherever it wants. Then one can not help but wonder with amazement … what makes all its parts fit perfectly to keep the whole thing solid and strong so as to be able to withstand the pressure it has to go through as it maneuvers to reach its destination? Then the airplane lands, and it has accomplished its goal. Then after sometime the process starts all over again, and the plane’s engine bursts into life as it prepares for another journey. Then it begins to ascend again, on to greater heights, towards another destination.
An airplane is able to do what it’s supposed to do because all its parts are working together, in perfect harmony. The powerful engine makes it fly amazing distances, lifts it thousands of miles above ground, but it’s not just the engine. There’s the pilot and the co-pilot. Then in the cockpit are the panels after panels of navigational equipment. Then there’s the ground crew, and the airport personnel and the traffic controllers in the tower. And there’s more! Deep inside the aircraft are thousands of small parts that contribute to make it a working, efficient machine. The tiniest of nuts and bolts that keeps intact the body of the plane, the seemingly insignificant pieces of steel here and there, and then the list can go on and on. All these play an important part that helps make the plane fly safely towards its destination. If one of these tiny pieces is removed, the performance of the plane will be affected, and it will not fly majestically and safely as it should. Therefore all its parts are important, essential, and critical.
It is the same with any kind of undertaking … especially projects and programs. I believe that no goal will ever be accomplished by one person alone. It is just impossible.
It is with this understanding that I am writing this to express my sincere and heartfelt gratitude and appreciation to all those who contributed to the success of the Cagayan De Oro National Family Week Activities for 2014. It is successful because we have achieved our goal which is to share the message of love and the importance of families. In the process of accomplishing the goal we have showed unity and cooperation, we had learning experiences – happy and sad, and we had fun! Moreover we were able to share goodness to others and we have touched lives – others and ours as well, for good!
To all of you, may our dear, loving Father in Heaven continue to bless you all with more blessings to enjoy and to share to others. Again from the bottom of my heart DAGHAN KAAYONG SALAMAT! You all have shared not only your resources, but you have so generously given your time, your talents, and your skills, and most important of all, your heart! The commitment you showed is invaluable and no amount of money will equal what you have given.
It humbles me to know that we are doing His work, and it is a privilege to be a part of it! May we all continue to put our shoulders to the wheel … until our time is up, until our part of the great work is done.
