Cagayan de Oro TriStake All Saints Day Community Service Project

Following the admonition of King Benjamin when he said “When ye are in the service of your fellow beings ye are only in the service of your God” (Mosiah 2:17), an estimated 250 to 300 members from the three (3) Stakes of Cagayan de Oro joined hands on October 29, 2011 in helping clean the Bolonsiri Cemetery (City Cemetery) in preparation for the city’s celebration of All Saints Day and All Souls Day on November 1 and 2.

Prepared with broomsticks, bolos, rakes, grass cutters, dustpans, and matches, the members cleaned the public cemetery from six o’clock to ten o’clock in the morning.

The TriStake Community Service Project was highly attended by adults, youth, and even primary children of the three stakes of Cagayan de Oro City. Present during the early morning activity were the Stake Presidents of the three (3) stakes of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Cagayan de Oro City: President Maximo Saavedra Jr of the Cagayan de Oro Philippines Stake; President Danilo Dela Vega Jr. of the Cagayan de Oro East Stake; and President Ramon Sigiuente of the Cagayan de Oro West Stake.
